Pantoscopic Tilt - Mark & Measure

Generic Methods - Mark & Measure.

  1. In this procedure you will mark 2 dots on the dummy lens.
  2. Begin with marking the 1st dot on the dummy lens, whilst the wearer is in normal gaze position as indicated by the red dot in Diagram A.
  3. Continue to mark the 2nd dot, before doing so, push the wearer's head backward to a position when the frame front is perpendicular to the floor. Use an imaginary vertical line for guide (illustrated in Diagram B). Mark the 2nd dot in the position as that indicated by the red dot in "Diagram B".
  4. You will now have 2 dots on the dummy lens as shown in the picture on the right, measure the distance between these two dots in mm. Double up the result for an approximate Pantoscopic Tilt in degrees.
